Fall and Winter Streamer Bite Coming Soon
Clarion and Allegheny River Trips 2017
After a soaking wet spring, which had the water levels high for most March and April, conditions finally stabilized for mid May-June. The fishing was phenomenal. Lots of big wild brown trout with a few rainbows and some brookies mixed in. There are always streamer fishing opportunities when the water is high, but it sure is fun after it comes back down and you can get some shots at these big bruisers on dry flies. Action will pick back up this fall and be good all through the winter.

Browns, Browns, and a big Rainbow?
Another day, another good catch on the river. My dad was on the oars on this trip and it was an excellent day. Some very nice brown trout and one big hook jaw rainbow exploded on streamers. It is not that we do not catch rainbows on the river but they are usually not as nice as this one. The water is getting just about right and the fish are really turning on!

What a terrible first day of trout season...The weather that is!
The temprature was in the low 40s with rain and winds out of the North at 23mph and gusts over 40. We had some guests that were willing to brave the conditions and it sure payed off! These are just some pics of the bigger fish. Many were caught in the 13-15 inch range. I would like to thank the Suter family for spending the morning on the water with my Dad and I.
